Biographical Sketch:

Françoise Massardier-Kenney received her Ph.D. from Kent State University in 1986. She has particular research interests in the translation and study of 19th century French literature, gender and feminism in translation and the pedagogy of translation. She is the author of Translating Slavery (with Doris Kadish), of Gender in the Fiction of George Sand, and of articles on translation pedagogy. She translates work in the field of psychoanalysis, political science, literature and business. She is the general editor of the American Translators Association Scholarly Monograph Series and the editor in chief of George Sand Studies. Professor Kenney is the MA translation coordinator and teaches courses in research methods, literary and cultural translation and legal and commercial translation.
