| Biographical Sketch: | After working as a professional translator in Japan, Judy Wakabayashi received her Ph.D. from the University of Queensland in 1993. She taught Japanese-English translation at the graduate level in Australia before moving to Kent State University. Her research interests include the history of translation in Japan, translation theory, and the pedagogy of translation. Dr Wakabayashi currently teaches graduate courses in translation theory and Japanese-English translation. Accredited as an Advanced Translator (Japanese-English) by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters in Australia, Dr Wakabayashi is the translator of several non-fiction books and the author of various articles on translation, and co-editor of Asian Translation Traditions (2005). |
