The Institute for Applied Linguistics is actively recruiting institutional, academic and corporate partners. The partner relationship is intended to be a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas and services between the Institute for Applied Linguistics and leading associations and companies in the language industry, as well as selected translation programs with similar interests. This relationship can involve recruiting visits, corporate internships, translation fellowships, advisory board membership, joint development of workshops and conferences, consultation on curriculum development and as well as direct participation in the LEIT initiative (LISA Education Initiative Taskforce). 	Advanced Language Translation Inc. Advanced Language supports the Institute for Applied Linguistics by offering internships and undertaking joint research projects.
Localingua   Localization & Translation	Localingua An Ohio based company, Localingua supports the Institute for Applied Linguistics by offering internships.
Exchange Programs
	The Institute's oldest continuous exchange relationship is with the University of Leipzig . Since 1985 the Institute and its faculty have maintained faculty and student exchanges and cooperated on a number of research and publication projects.
	The University of Geneva Ecole de Traduction et d'Interprétation maintains an exchange program with Kent State University and the Institute for Applied Linguistics.
Industry and Professional Associations
	The Localization Industry Standards Association (LISA) is an international forum for organizations doing business globally and provides professional support for the development of enterprise globalization guidelines, best practices, and business standards. LISA members nclude leading software publishers, hardware manufacturers, localization service vendors, etc.
	The American Translators Association promotes translator training and the generation of recommendations for translation programs.
Software Providers
	SDL International has supported the Institute for Applied Linguistics by providing computer-assisted translation software (SDLX, Trados, Multiterm, Phrasefinder), and localization quality assurance tools (SDL QA Suite) for use in the training of future localization specialists, and by participating in LEIT activities.
	STAR Group America has supported the Institute for Applied Linguistics by providing STAR Transit and TermStar computer-assisted translation and terminology management software for use in the training of future translators.
	Idiom Technologies, Inc. has supported the Institute for Applied Linguistics by enabling IAL to participate in the Idiom LSP Advantage Program and by providing a copy of Idiom WorldServer for use in IAL courses and research.
	across has supported the Institute for Applied Linguistics by providing the across Language Server for use in IAL courses and research.

Training Programs
	The Translation Research Group at Brigham Young University maintains the LEIT website and supports the activities of LEIT.
